Tyson's favorite moments

Tyson joined our family three weeks ago and we are loving the time we spend with him.  He is funny, sweet, and very curious.  He loves snuggling daddy and looking for mommy.  He is hungry a lot.  At his two week appointment the Dr. was very impressed with his health.  He said that Tyson was just a perfect baby.  He has grown and gained weight since his birth.  At his two week appointment he was 9lbs 7 oz.  He was 22.83in.  He is barely fitting into newborn clothes, some onesies look like muscle shirts.  Tyson continues to laugh in his sleep and smiles randomly.  I know they are probably gas bubbles causing the smiles, but I like to pretend he is smiling because he loves being a part of our family as much as we love him.  We are so blessed to have such an amazing miracle as our baby boy.  Thank you to all for your sweet gifts and answers to all of our weird questions as we try to succeed at parenthood.

Tyson Douglas, 8/25/2011

He has finally arrived, and we are so proud of him!  8lb. 12oz. and 21.5" with huge feet.  He is so calm and content and such a blessing to our home.  Here are a few pictures of his first moments to hold everyone off for a few days until his infant photos are complete.  Thanks to everyone for the gifts and congratulations!

Cabin Trip

I spent the weekend down at the family cabin with Chris and Ryan. We had perfect weather (high 70s), lots of good food, and plenty of manly oil/gas fumes, exhaust, and sawdust! Despite fighting with the chainsaws, we got a lot of work done.

Chris had the chance to try out the new trailers he built earlier this year.  They ended up being pretty handy.

We tried being lumberjacks for the weekend.  I sure am glad I got a degree!

We did find some time to have a little fun.  Check out the view we found, trees as far as you can see in every direction.

Chris coming down the trail

Ryan down the trail.

Yes, we sent the younger brother with a cast (and no shoes) up the roof.  Check out the rope ladder he had to build because it was so steep.  Good thing we all remembered our knot tying.

Fixing the smoke stack and some AJT rep.

Nice work Ryan

We found some time to fish, and the lake looks pretty sweet this year because of the high water level.

I couldn't resist taking a picture of Ryan looking like Mark Twain.
